Book Reviews
I am grateful to Abi for the thoughts set out in the books "Casting all your care upon him"... It is comforting to know we can come to God with all our troubles. I particularly liked reading of Moses telling the Israelites "fear ye not" encouraging them to "stand still" and see the salvation of the Lord, day 58, knowing it applies to us too. Thank you Abi for producing 2 beautiful books. I loved the variety of pictures, word searches, and poems also.

“Casting all your care upon him”, is a very cleverly designed self help book. Although aimed at people suffering with anxiety, I found it helpful for any individual struggling, as we all do with the many trials of this life. It is such an uplifting book. The daily verses are based on scripture (as is the book), but you don’t need to be knowledgeable in that field as the author guides you through the many quotes and readings with such skill, that it has a real impact on the way you see your life. Additionally, many of the themes have creative activities and studies to undertake that really help to keep the reader involved. Altogether a must for anyone who finds their path in life challenging.
I couldn’t wait for the 2nd book to hit the shelves...I wasn’t disappointed…equally full of advice and ideas.
I especially liked the many colourful illustrations... that helped to highlight the chapters and their message. - Jo
This book is very uplifting and comes with lovely pictures with bible quotes and puzzles. Very comforting. Highly recommend. - Becca
These two books, which I have enjoyed reading, give much encouragement, helping each day to focus our minds on God and His ways. This can give us the strength we need to face life's challenges, knowing that the "God of all comfort" is ever present in our lives, if we are endeavouring to live lives pleasing to Him and put our faith and trust in Him. - Miriam
'Abi is to be commended for trying to help others cope with their stresses and anxieties, through the daily diligent reading and meditation of God's word.' - Sharon
Casting all your care upon him
By Abigail K Jones
This book provides daily self-help for anxiety in the form of meditations and reflections based on God’s word. I started to read Book One a couple of years ago and was nearly three quarters of the way through. I had talked about the book to other members of my family and showed it to my father who was very ill at the time. He asked to borrow it and he told me that he found the meditations interesting and helpful.
I have since completed the book myself and started to read the second. It is ideal for those days when you need encouragement and to be reminded of God’s love for us and guidance in his word. - Judith
Great words to just pick up and read in a few moments - gives brain time for a break and then can go back more refreshed! - Beka
Casting all your care upon him.
Books 1 and 2.
These two books about anxiety provide bite sized encouragement from the word of God for each day of the year. I really appreciated how the thought for each day was only a page or two, so it does not take long to read, yet gives us something to think about for the rest of the day.
Common themes throughout the books are that God is in control of our lives, we need to leave our problems in his care (See 1 Peter 5:7) and that in difficult times we need to look past them to the wonderful hope of the Kingdom of God. Scattered throughout there are pages with a poem based on scripture, or a bible cross word which break things up nicely.
These books are useful for helping us to “set our minds on things above” (Col 3:2) whether or not one suffers from anxiety. - Lucy
