Are you enjoying having quality time with your children over the summer holidays? Are you wishing there was a solution which meant that they didn't have to go back to school again in September?
Well you've come to the right place...There is another way to give your children education...join me for this week's blog post as I explore the topic of homeschooling.
If you are thinking about homeschooling your children, or know someone who is thinking about it, then this blog is for you...
So what exactly is homeschooling? Homeschooling is where you teach your children at home. You can teach them the subjects they would learn at school such as Maths, English, Science, P.E etc, all from the comfort of your home surroundings.
To decide if homeschooling is something you would like to think more about, let's focus on the following questions. Do your children enjoy school? Are they getting on well at school in their lessons? Or are they hating school, struggling in their lessons, or getting bullied?
Well this was me, this is exactly what I went through when I was at school... I didn't like school, I really struggled with Maths and I was constantly bullied, which had a negative impact on me. I was quiet and shy, and had very few friends. The only good friend I had, moved to a different school. As I was shy, I very rarely answered questions or asked for help in class. Also, I was considered by teachers as "a good student" who got on with the work, and so I was sometimes paired with naughty children, probably to try and encourage them to behave...but this never worked... The naughty kids just caused me frustration, as despite me trying to have a positive influence on them, they wouldn't get on with the work, instead continuing to just misbehave.
So you can imagine, when my parents found a way out of this miserable situation for me, I was overjoyed!
It was in the summer of 2004, that my parents began researching into homeschooling. After much consideration, they decided to carry out the idea and my Mum taught me and my sister at home. I can honestly say it was the best decision for me and my sister. It benefited us and our education in such a positive way!
Homeschooling had so many benefits for me...
It meant no more bullying
No more being stuck with naughty children to try and influence them.
I felt confident to ask questions and ask for help in lessons - due to me being at home with just my family.
I finally improved in Maths and passed my GCSE Maths exam.
I gained good grades in all my exams
My Mum was able to give us education which was best suited to us - on a one to one rather than a group basis.
Me and my sister still had friends and more loyal ones too, which we saw often.
Homeschooling gave us a community of like minded people to compare notes with and spend time together.
Imagine this could all be you and your family too... Your children could also have a better education, no more bullying, better grades, improved confidence, and generally be happier children! They could thrive in their lessons, rather than dreading them or finding them dull and boring. You can choose which subjects you teach (alongside the essential ones - i.e Maths and English), and you can structure your lessons and your 'homeschooling day' to suit your children and how they learn best.
So why not give homeschooling a go? There are so many online resources now, along with homeschooling groups and events. Also, I have created a Homeschooling Planner, to help and guide anyone who is thinking about or starting homeschooling this September! The planner guides you through the whole homeschooling journey, from starting out, to lesson planning sheets.

You can find out more information and how to buy the planner, by clicking on the "Planners" section on this website. If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to send me a message, and I'll be more than happy to help!
All the best with your homeschooling adventure! You can do this!
